Incoming insurance is temporary travel health insurance for visitors to Germany, including au pairs from abroad. It covers the costs of medical emergencies, treatment at doctors’ surgeries and hospitals, as well as repatriation to the au pair’s home country.
This insurance is necessary because most au pairs come from countries outside the EU and are therefore not entitled to benefits from Germany’s public health insurance system. Incoming insurance not only protects against high medical costs, but is also generally required when applying for a visa.
Incoming insurance packages often include liability insurance and accident insurance in addition to health insurance. This provides financial support to both the au pair and the host family in the event of personal injury or property damage.
